Sylphid

In their human glamour most Sylphin have done their best to appear both uninteresting and unassuming. While they are certainly capable of gathering glamour about them to turn the heads of human males and females, notice was not to their advantage. The Andals and other humans who followed the Thorn King quickly learned that a Muiri's glamour could be broken with something as simple as an iron nail.

For those that lived in the cities, they had to be both very circumspect and highly valuable. They became the cook and footman, the maidservant, and stableboy. They kept their oppressors' houses neat and their own noses clean. Any crime done by them or against them was easily dismissed of the "iron test" could not be passed. They fared marginally better on remote farms and in the homes of the Gentry. This sad story was true of many Muiri, but for the Sylphid it was distressing.

The Sylphid are a people of magic and air. While they have a tie to the natural world, like all Muiri, the Sylphid with their wings and whispers did not survive well among the dour and judgemental humans of the last two millennia. In fact, many perished and few cross-bred with other humans or sub-races.

Today, the Sylphid have regained much, for they were one of the races to begin the war against the Thorn King. Many live in and around Raeyithia in homes they have taken from their oppressors. Their natural form is revealed. They are all winged, and most have insect or butterfly wings, large eyes, and delicate features.
