Although collectively the armies of the Order of Jormungandr are known as the "Knights of the Burning Ash" the actual leadership behind the organization is a collective. Composed of a council of rich lords, knights, priests, merchants, mages, politicians they meet and squabble to maintain order over the Capital City, Andalstad.

In addition to being a prophecy about the future that revealed much about the underlying nature of the world along the way, the myth of Ragnarok also served as a paradigmatic model for human action. For the Vikings, the tale didn’t produce hopelessness as much as inspiration and invigoration. Just as the gods will one day die, so too will each individual human being. And just as the gods will go out and face their fate with dignity, honor, and courage, so too can humans. In this view, the inevitability of death and misfortune should not paralyze us, but should instead spur us to hold noble attitudes and do noble deeds – the kind worthy of being recounted by bards many generations after we ourselves are gone.''

''The only beings who (presumably) didn’t have their lives determined by fate were the Norns, the beings who shaped fate in the first place. The Norns were a trio of wise female entities whose magical abilities were unmatched by those of any other being. They lived at the base of Yggdrasil, the great tree at the center of the cosmos. There they carved the fates of all of the inhabitants of the cosmos into the tree, or, in another image, wove them with thread, cutting the last strand at the end of the person’s life.''

Because of the belief that the Order is here to write it's own fate and bring forth the end, it is customary to them to refer to themselves as "Norns", or "Fate Shapers".  Some of the more feverish believers will keep journals, prophetizing their next actions, down to what they will eat for tomorrow's breakfast. Others take a more lively approach and graffiti or carve similiar predictions into trees, on the sides of buildings or into stone.  The territory of the Order of Jormungandr because of this is easily marked apart from others by this action of it's followers.

'''The World of Yggdrasil'''

Members of the Order often call this world Yggdrasil since they feel the pull of everything and place themselves at the center of this final conflict.  If this is the end, it must be the center of all things, no?

The Knighthood thrives on gathering those newly arrived to the realm of Cuivienen before they are able to set forth proper roots in this new world. Playing on insecurities, promising a spiritual freedom no one else, not even gods, can offer. They stand united in their effort to cleanse the slate of all realities. With the feeling within their heart of hearts, of this being the last great mythic battle the Order has decided to instead break the chains and cycle placed on them. Their goal is to release the power of Jormungandr, the great fire dragon that twists under them, under all known worlds and bring forth final Armageddon.
